Check for State Court Civil Suits or Criminal Cases

Online records available to the public can be accessed through the Clerk of Court’s web site for the particular county involved.  Some, such as Hamilton County, Ohio, have an excellent web site that permits comprehensive name searches by anyone.  In some instances a person needs to register and obtain a login and ID in order to be able to actually view documents that have been filed with the Clerk.  Each county is a little different but if you are interested in a pending case, you may find out more about it through these links:

Please also note:  there are searchable records for matters pertaining to probate court and decedent’s estates.  The Clerk who handles this however may be a different division of the Clerk’s office than for the general civil or criminal clerk.  For example:
